What do I want my audience to feel?
I believe that my trailer will involve the audience make them guess and think about what's next in the trailer so I want my audience to be an active audience.
What is an active audience?
This means that meaning of my Horror trailer is created by the audience and me telling them what happens but letting the audience think about what is happening. The audience is "active" as they are actively thinking about the trailer.
An example of another film which has an active audience approach is
Memento a 2000 film directed by Christopher Nolan
This film involves a complex form of narrative were the audience are left to piece the past which is shown in black and white and the present together to work out the eventual killer. I watched a little bit in my Media class which inspired to me to use this concept in my piece a blurring of reality and fiction which is central to post modernism .

What I am going to add to my Horror trailer
Voice over is one of the main conventions of Horror as it brings a sense of reality to the genre, as if someone is speaking over it keeps the audience guessing creating a active audience a feature of post modernism. I decided to do a voice over my self because I believe my voice is well suited to fit the role of a horror style voice over but I may think about changing it if I need to but through consultation with my teachers it is believed that the voice over will create a better overall appearance to my trailer.
TV Noise
After consulting my Media teachers on my video, they recommended the use of static sound to link in with the static image. Static is a convention of Horror as it connotes the breaking down of something and the disruption of something so after doing some research on some videos, I found that alot of other well established Horror genre trailers use this technique.
I will also be using this particular sample in my video as I believe the crackly effect of the sound makes the static noise realistic to the trailer and will add greatly to the effect of some scenes.
