Cast members
The role of the other drunk male will be played by my friend David, like the others cast members David will have to be confident and act a realistic role as a stereotypical male who drinks and enjoys going out. Dave plays an important role in persuading the lead character the sober female to go against her instincts and go to the haunted mansion where the main plot takes place.

Cast members
I have asked my friend Kaela to play the sober female this is the most important role in the trailer but one in which i think she can handle. She plays a shy female who doesn't drink with the group but then is persuaded by the group to drink and act like the other hyper and energetic. Kaela is funny and very social and will be great on the camera and i believe she will fit in well with the scene.
Cast members
My friend Curt is playing one of the male characters, the character he is playing is a very confident social male which fit Curts personality in real life so its a great match. The character he is playing is vital in leading the sober female to the haunted mansion so confidence is an important assist to have while acting
Cast memers
This is one of the female cast members Laura, she is playing a stereotypical teenager who drinks and likes a good time. Laura personality is perfect for this role as she is very bubbly and lively. Her role in the trailer is to blend in with the lads in the scene and persuade her friend to join the group drinking and go with them to the haunted mansion where the main action is held.
Test shots
I have conducted some test shots around the places i want to film my horror trailer to test how the scenes look on camera. I took the pictures around half 5 because the dark lighting is perfect for my trailer and this is the time i intend on filming the final production. I believe the pictures came out fairly well, i am pleased with the outcome and hopefully they will look this good on video camera.

My logo
I have tried to create a realistic film trailer logo which took me a while to make but i am pleased in the outcome of the logo. I used Photo shop to manipulate the image in the way i believe would best represent our trailer. This is only a draft right now but i may use this for my final production.
I tried to incorporate the main features of a film trailer logo such as the crest which represents tradition and prestige something which i want audience members to think when they see our logo. I was inspired to do my logo like a crest because of there Warner Brothers logo which is similar to a crest and is an already a well known iconic picture which hopefully audience members may link to my logo.
I chose the font turquoise as its a subtle colour which both male and female audience members can like as i didn't want to discriminate against a particular gender by picking colours such as pink which may hint towards a female audience of the colour red which could be iconic of males.
The font and writing links to the crest and follows the pattern of a traditional stereotypical upper class style. I designed the font so its fairly bold giving a direct impression on the audience but no to bold that it distracts the audience from the trailer.
The mise en scene of the crest resembles Heraldry which is a type of coat of arms which was used over 900 years ago in early Anglo Saxon era representing power and tradition. The text inside the crest is a M + E which stands for my initials which is a convention of logos. When audience members watch the crest appear in the trailer
i hope they link the initials to the name what is underneath the logo which i am proud to represent due to my hard wrok creating the logo.
The coat of arms symbol has changed in many ways and is now perceived as a contemporary symbol due major fashion brands such as Henley's using a crest for the fashion logo. So i expect audience members to look at the crest and see the tradition linking it to the prestige of the trailer but also relate it the the contemporary style me and my partner aim to make.

Film Locations
I believe the best place to film a convincing horror trailer would be in a
- Dark place
- Abandon
- Wilderness
- Has a spooky feel to it
- Mysterious
I have personally looked at different locations to look for the place which incorporates these convincing horror traits. The place i found is a around a forest wildlife. It is based in Anlaby which is very good as me and my partner both live near the location meaning we can get there reasonably fast and go a few times to take pictures of the setting which i will put on here.
The location is called Anlaby house and is known by locals as a spooky place and area which is perfect for me as this is what i want for my horror trailer. The place has a few flats in the grounds as it has been newly taken over but the forest around it is still there so me and my partner will have to ask for permission to film to make sure we have the correct authority to shoot the trailer.
The time we want to film is at night as darkness is one of the main conventions of horror trailers. I intend on shooting the trailer around 6pm as the lighting will be perfect for the trailer as most horror trailers start in the day and go to the night when the horror starts so with this we can film the day shots as the lighting will still be fairly light but then after an hour or so the light will be perfect for the horror scenes as they will be enough lighting to see the characters yet keep the mystery of the darkness with it.

My fourth horror trailer analysis
Paranormal activity 2 is the sequel to the first paranormal activity is a horror genre similar to the one i want to make. I looked very closely at all the different affects used to help us create a similar impression on our audience. Paranormal as a definition is something which designates experiences that lie outside "the range of normal experience or scientific explanation"
The first scene the audience see is complete darkness and all we hear is the digetic sound of wind blowing to try spook the audience and create a calming affect until the bedroom scene appear through a straight cut where a long shot of the bedroom is used to establish the setting then quickly the digetic sound from windblown changes in a split second to a booming noise where a character is suddenly flinged towards the camera creating a mysterious affect towards the audience as the affect from the peace of wind blowing to the male character being flung by a force which we deem to be an alien on at the camera shows the opposites of quiet to loud which is a common convention in horror trailers i have analysed.
During the trailer audience members experience the enigma of what is happening or going to happen in the house and the use of cross cutting between the house and the garden give an even greater effect as the audience members believe they our actually in the scene and are experiencing what is going on in the narrative. The high angle shot and the date in the bottom right corner gives the impression that it is being filmed through CCTV surveillance this creates realism to the audience members that the scene is not staged and is filmed through a live recording device i believe this adds the the whole horror scene effect the unpredictability of what is happening. The digetic sound effects of chairs rocking is intensified greatly during the trailer to give an impact that the unusual is happening, this is a common occurrence in horror film trailers to try grip audience members.
The music like alot of other horror trailers tends to be quiet and use digetic sound to create a sense of realism in the scene but when something is about to happen increases in pitch then suddenly when the horror is happening in this case when the audience are in the cinema and jump up in fear which we as the audience suspect is due to watching something "paranormal" take place.
Alot of the trailer is set in darkness which is to do with the lighting and camera angles there is very little light if any whitin the whole trailer this sets the scene of horror as stereotypically the "paranormal" takes place at night. The low lighting is a common convention of horror trailers and is an integral part on creating the unknown in scene.
When we see the crowd through a straight cut the audience experience the emotions of what the cinema audience are going like there facial reaction through a close up shot this makes us see the fear in their eyes when watching certain bits which makes the audience want to experience the emotion as well.
The mise en scene of the trailer is simple due to the scenes being shot in real life so to create a realistic trailer the objects in must be which stereotypical items which would be displayed in a bedroom e.g lamp shades, beds. The house resembles a stereotypical middle class house which is the target audience of the film this is so audience members can relate to the situation the characters are going through as if the scene was shot in a mansion this may alienate a particular social class who may not feel connected with the characters due to rank.
The text which appears towards the end is typical of a horror trailer which is dark background and the bold white font to make the words stand out. The words say "nothing can prepare you" which is followed by "FOR WHATS NEXT" in capital letters with a similar background. The way the letters are in capital emphasises the horror in what is being written, for whats next leaves the audience on a cliche cliff hanger ending this makes them ask themselves question which will intice them to watch the film

My third horror trailer analysis
The Blair Witch project is a 1999 American horror film, the narrative is pieced together through amateur footage similar to the Paranormal activity 2 trailer i have analysed.
The first thing the audience see of the mise en scene is the forest through a close up and low lighting this sets the scene straight away and with the use of the shaky camera movements from the hand-held camera creates verisimilitude to the audience. The use of the hand-held camera is a main convention of horror films as this enables the audience to experience what the characters see it through. The non digetic voice over at the beginning with the actual news sounding over the pictures makes the audience realise the depth of what is going on as this horror is believed to be a true story therefore adding even a greater amount of horror.
Throughout the trailer the director Daniel Myrick has took into account he has to recreate this real tragedy with the most realism possible to both make audience believe what they are watching and that people who are linked to it are not offended. The editing of the whole trailer is montage editing this is to show that different situations are happening over the trailer as the camera crosses from the scene of the forest to the lab where DNA testing is believed to be happening and back to the home interviewing is occurring this is all seen through different parts of the trailer. When in the lab scene the close up of the hand-held camera used in what is interpreted as the one used in the actual Blair Witch Project filming with the students creates verisimilitude for the audience an yet again reinforces the realism of the film.
The font which is used to explain the story to the audience is very similar to the other trailers i have analysed in terms of contrast from the black background to the white font. The font is easy to read and a average sized font this is to make sure the words which come up don't distract the audience from the actual goings on in the trailer.
The lighting throughout the trailer remains very dark with no actual colours being shown this is to represent the darkness of the film as it is a horror genre the main convention of these movies are darkness. With dark lighting we as the audience are un aware of what is happening when the handheld camera is filming the floor as all we can see is twigs and branches establishing the mise en scene of the forest but creating an enigma of what is going on around the forest as the digetic sound of wind blowing creates a dramatic affect when watching this scene.
